This reference list does not guarantee the performance of specific or specialized services by the listed surveyors.  A listing on the website should not be considered an endorsement by the Professional Land Surveyors of Ohio, Inc. of any individual or business.

The Professional Land Surveyors of Ohio recommends that any time you are considering hiring a Professional Surveyor; you confirm that the individual is licensed to practice the Profession of Surveying in the State of Ohio.  You may do so by visiting the State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Professional Surveyors at www.peps.ohio.gov and selecting the “License Lookup” tab at the top of the page.

CPD Workshop to be held May 16

PLSO will host a 6 hour CPD workshop on Friday, May 16 at the Crowne Plaza North, 6500 Doubletree Avenue, Columbus.

The workshop will include classes on Workman’s Compensation, Risk Management, and surveying legislation on the state and federal levels. Registration will include morning refreshments, lunch, snacks, parking, and CPD certificates.

Registration is $95 for PLSO Members, $155 for non-members of PLSO

ASKEGA CPD session with Abraham Lincoln March 24th

The ASKEGA Chapter members recently hosted Mr. John W. King as Abraham Lincoln for a session entitled “Abraham Lincoln the Surveyor”. OSU Chapter and NGS host OPUS workshop

The OSU Chapter of PLSO is teaming up with NOAA”s National Geodetic Survey offices to host a 4-day OPUS Projects and Bluebooking Workshop. The event will be held April 22 – 25 at the Franklin County Engineer’s Office in Columbus. Seating for the event is extremely limited, and pre-registration is required. National Surveyors Week – Ohio makes its mark!

The 2014 National Surveyors Week was recognized with a nation-wide data collection event.
The “Reaching New Heights” program will collected points for upload to NGS. PLSO members participated in this event, resulting in 9 contributions to the OPUS DB – the 2nd highest in the nation! Only Pennsylvania submitted more (13) during the event. To view the NOAA map of OPUS submissions for the event, please CLICK HERE. Thanks to all who participated!

PLSO Bylaws Updated

The PLSO Executive Committee voted to update the PLSO Bylaws at its meeting Friday, January 10. View the updated constitution (from the August, 2013 member vote) and the updated bylaws on the “About” page of the PLSO website

Today Show story recommends hiring surveyor

The Today Show aired a “Faulty FEMA maps force homeowners to buy unnecessary insurance” story Sept. 11, 2013. A quote from the end of the story said, “You can hire a local surveyor to come out to your property to prepare an elevation certificate. It will cost you several hundred dollars, but it could save you money in the long run.” Watch the story.
